  once again people are quick to point fingers at the government and say that the troops are indoctrinated and blah blah blah.

  20 yrs from now when youre old and crippled you will see why the war was fought, and that it was worth it not just for the u.s. but for the whole middle east and the surrounding nations. that whole area is unstable.

  there are always two sides to a story but neither one is 100% right or wrong.

  either way you can thank your kids that someone like me chose to do a job that most do not want to do, or even think about doing. nor do they want to see the things that we see. but i am still proud to defend your freedom of speech and the rights that you have.

  p.s. most troops choose to go back not for anyone else but for the man next to him. its a kind of relationship and brotherhood youll never have the honor of knowing.

  and no im not deployed at the moment but i am saying this while im out away from my family doing some training out in the field and i still have 15 more days left. im glad i brought my phone so that in the evenings when i have down time i can talk to my wonderful and understanding wife. tonight i was lucky and was able to use a computer and chat with her and see her and my son via webcam.

  What Do You Do for Work / Career?

  i've been on the board for quite a while now and was wondering, what do my fellow jwdr's do for work, employment or career?

  me, i'm in probably one of the most hated careers in america right now.

  (not gonna tell you what it is either) but how about you, what do you do to earn a little coin?.

  Potty training kids and different views...

  when i was growing up, i remember my parents would put those plastic "cover" things over my sisters panties and put those protective sheets on the bed to help them with potty training.

  especially when they were doing great with using the potty on their own during the daytime.. my aunt in texas would beat her kids arses if they wet the bed.

  (now i do not agree with this way).

  well i know i was one of those kids that had accidents through the night, in fact i didnt stop wetting the bed till i was like 15 or 16. its really quite embaressing because i couldnt spend the night at my friends house because i feared wetting the bed. and sometimes i would and id wet the bed or sleeping bag. it sucked so bad, its detrimental to a child to have to go through that. it lowered my self esteem soooo much. i dont want my child to go throught the same thing. although my mom thought it was something more serious but couldnt afford to take me to a doctor to figure out why i wet the bed till i was old enough to drive. i even had accidents when i was 17. although not many. it suck to be in high school and wet the bed.

  i never wnat my son to experiance the pain of being a bedwetter up into the teen years.

  once i started continuously reading how the organization and watchtower writings were bogus, i couldn't help but get out!

  i left in 2003 to join the Army to get away from everything JW i ever knew, including the people. the internet and the things ive read here just re-enforces my decision to get out and not go back.

  DAD'S how much time do you spend,,,,

  as a father, or grand father, do you get your kids up in the am, feed them breakfast and get them off to school?

  pick them up after school...take them to piano, or, any other activity?.

  if so, why... and for how long?.

  well considering that my son is only 21 months old i do not take him to school. he doesnt go to day care either, my wife stays home so she usually does all the getting him up and spends the most time with him. i get up at 0500 every morning during the week, but on the weekends i do usually wake him up. in fact after i type this its time for him to get up.

  my son turned 21 months old today.

  everytime he goes pee or poop in his diapers he lets us know and even will grab our hands to take him to get his diaper changed. every once in a while he will let us know before hand so we try to sit him on the toilet but he just crys. its funny though, he knows what the toilet is for because he will see me go in there and if im standing he says "pee pee" then he will flush the toilet for me. and if im sitting he says "poo poo."

  so i know the time is coming soon where he will want to go on the toilet. but i wanted to get all of your opinions with those little toilets for kids to potty train them. has anyone used them? does the child learn quickly by using that? or do they get stuck wanting to use the small potty training toilet and not want to use a regular toilet? basically whats your experiance with those and how do you feel about them?

  i tried to tell my mom about the wt coverups like un-ngo, rand cam, shares/stocks they own, the payout for the sexual assault victims, and a few more.

  well this is what she had to say to me about the whole thing.

  JAG- actually ive been to jail, and did some weed, so one out of the three. and im DA'd not DF'd, not that it matters because both are shunned just the same. either way im out and never regretted it.

  im actually happy with my life the way it is and in someway thankful that i was raised in the "truth" but only because it was being in that cult that lead me to make my decision to exit it very quickly when i did. if i hadnt been in then my life would have been very different and im not sure i would have met my wife, and def would not have my son.

  and as for the rest of my life i couldnt be happier. which btw i am in the Army and am proud of it. some of the topics about the military really make me upset but i keep my mouth shut for the most part. alot of comments are made in ignorance. even if they think that they know something about it, they really dont. all they do is show thier stupidity.

  christendom and war

  went to the bookstudy this morning.

  the study talked about false religion and war and how other religions are killing each other and also jw's for not going to war.

  there was many comment of how many early jw's served time or were executed for not going to war.

  i was an active JW until i joined the Army. then i was DA'd and i dont regret it at all. funny thing was in my basic training there was another guy who was also DA'd for joining the Army. i found out because there was a discussion about blood types and transfusions and he asked the drill instructor about being able to refuse a transfusion. that was a dead give away to me that he was a JW but no one else ever knew we were JW's.

  i am also a Combat Medic and given the materials, part of my job is to actually help give blood transfusions!
